We are hiring! TEAM is seeking an Automation and Facilities Manager to join our group in Morristown, TN.

You will lead a group of highly skilled personnel responsible for the development of processes, equipment, and tooling to deliver new products and support continuous improvement for existing manufacturing operations. Additionally, you will manage facility maintenance services for five manufacturing plants in Morristown, TN. In this capacity, you will supervise and direct the following personnel: electricians, automation and control specialists, and machinists. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring/ terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; taking disciplinary action; and addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Develop and execute projects in coordination with engineering and manufacturing that reduce costs and/or improves efficiency (labor, maintenance, quality improvement) or create new products through automation and equipment/ technology selection. In this capacity, the manager may perform some or all of the following activities: define project scope, solicit quotations, prepare budgetary cost estimates, provide input on equipment selection and specifications, manage project budgets, and issue purchase requisitions for materials/ equipment.
  • Plan, allocate, prioritize, and manage labor resources in lead or support capacity for the following project types:
    • Automation and controls development.
    • Equipment design and build.
    • Product and process prototyping.
    • Equipment installs (new, upgrade, facility, etc.)
    • Equipment relocation (manufacturing and facilities)
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve facilities including plant systems (HVAC, compressors, water, vacuum, electrical, and fire/ smoke alarm systems, etc.), buildings, and grounds (surrounding properties, parking lots, etc.). Ensures In some cases, these systems may include service contract management. Setting and ensuring regular PM’s are critical to success.
  • • Plan, allocate, prioritize, and manage internal labor resources and contractors to support manufacturing operations; that include, but are not limited to the following activities:
    • Equipment and tooling repair inclusive of parts/ tooling replacement machining
    • Equipment and process troubleshooting assistance.
    • Location preparation (setup/ breakdown), electrical wiring, piping (compressed air, vacuum, and plumbing), painting, etc.
  • Develop departmental annual budget and track performance against targets (labor costs, discretionary spending, supplies, etc. Track and report departmental KPI’s (e.g. project schedule performance, project budget performance, 5S, safety metrics, OT hours, etc.).
  • Promote, teach, and monitor internal EH&S programs. Immediately resolve safety issues or collaborate with the EH&S manager to resolve larger or longer-term solutions.
  • Drive effective employee relations and engagement (training, reward, promotion, counseling, and discipline). Manage staffing levels and skill sets to best support company’s strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain key supplier relationships to ensure the use of appropriate materials/ technologies, reliability, and cost competitiveness in the following areas:
    • Materials & components used in equipment/ tooling development and repair.
    • Machining & fabricating new and replacement parts/ tooling.
    • Rigging, construction, painting, etc.
  • Promote a work environment of continuous improvement that supports the company’s Quality policy and system, GMP rules, and relevant local/ state/ federal regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar supervisory or management role (Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted at management discretion.)
  • Significant experience with robotics and other automation equipment, manufacturing equipment design/ maintenance, machining operations, facility maintenance, and project management is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, ISO quality systems and GMP requirements will be considered a plus.
  • Comfortable presenting information and data to senior management as well as customers and suppliers.
  • Organizational skills are critical to this position.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
